These cars were sold through K-Mart stores on single
blistercards. Route 66 is owned by Ertl/RC, and these are
based upon the Racing Champions micros. I am unsure
if the whole series was ever produced.

These were sold under the
name 'Route 66', but the base is stamped 'Racing Champions'. All cars are
advertised as 1:144 scale. These are about the same length as Micro Machines,
but noticeably smaller in width. The windshields are clear so you can even
see the interior! The bases are BLACK, whereas the Racing Champions editions
are unpainted metal. The body also has a hole in it for a key chain to
pass through.
The item numbers shown can be found on the backs of some blisterpacks in the lower right corner. Not all blisterpacks had the number printed on the back. |
