Edition Corvettes |

The Collector's Edition was a series
of HO scale cars introduced in 1999 and sold
in single packs. Many collectors were hoping that there be subsequent releases, but if there was any in the works, they were canceled with the Hasbro takeover. Many have added features like a removable top or opening hood. There were three tiers of cars, with 15 different castings in the lineup. With the variations and chase cars, there were 20 cars in the collection. The cars with an "S" in the collector number were limited to 13,400 units The cars with an "R" in the collector number were limited to 6,700* units *Rumor has it that the tooling broke on the CE3r 1961 Hardtop It was nearly impossible to find even though it was slated for 6,700 units It is not unusual to see one sell for over $250 at auction. |
