This
is one of the more common micro brands. Vehicles
were sold
in 2-packs, 5-packs, and larger boxed sets.They
also made
many playsets to go with the vehicles.

These are all 4x4s similar
to the Galoob Turbo Wheels series. The easiest way to tell these cars apart
from others is the wheels. Road Champs only had three different wheels
on this series, the first was similar to a hot wheels 'blackwall' wheel,
the second style was a tornado design, and the third being a gold version
of the tornado style. The bases are black and marked 'Made in China'. Some
bases also say 'Road Champs' and a copyright date. (the newer castings
do not have the copyright date) |

These are similar to the
regular cars, but have a sunroof that reflects the light make it appear
that the head and tail lights work. You can 'turn off' the lights by placing
your finger over the sunroof. These are among the hardest to find Road
Champs. The bases are marked 'Road Champs' 'Made in China' with the copyright
date of 1989. |
